15th Century"Boiled Leather" Case

Custom made "boiled leather" case based on an original 15th century piece in the Cluny Museum

Characteristics :

- Internal structure in vegetable tanned leather hardened with animal gelatine and sewn with linen thread

- Outer layers of seamless vegetable-tanned leather, with trimmed and overlapping edges, hardened and glued with animal gelatine

- Leather blackened with iron acetate

- Chamoised deer leather strap

- The embossed floral motifs  have been reproduced as faithfully as possible, only the original markings differ from the original and have been replaced at the request of the client
